App Description and Purpose

Splitup is a mobile application designed to make expense splitting and group payments easier. The app helps users to:

• Split bills and expenses with friends, family, or groups
• Track shared expenses and balances
• Create and manage multiple expense groups
• Settle up payments efficiently
• View expense history and generate reports
• Sign in securely with Google or Apple accounts

Features and Usage

1. Adding Expenses

• Tap the ‘+’ button to add a new expense
• Enter the amount and description
• Select who paid and who needs to split the expense
• Add any notes or receipt images if needed

2. Managing Groups

• Create groups for different occasions or regular sharing
• Add members to groups easily
• Track group-specific expenses and balances
• View individual shares and settlements

3. Settling Up

• View who owes what to whom
• Mark expenses as settled when paid
• Get notified when someone settles up

Account Management

1. The App uses Google and Apple Sign-In for secure authentication. We do not collect or store any additional personal information beyond what is provided through these authentication services.

2. All expense data is stored securely and used solely to provide the expense splitting functionality.

3. Users can delete their account at any time by navigating to the Settings section in the app and selecting the “Delete Account” option. Upon deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Q: How do I add friends to a group? A: You can add friends to a group by creating a new group and sharing the invite link, or by entering their email addresses if they already use Splitup.

Q: How are the expenses split? A: By default, expenses are split equally among selected participants. You can also customize the split by entering specific amounts or percentages for each person.

Q: Is my financial information secure? A: Yes, we implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. We don’t store any payment information - all settlements are handled outside the app.
